It was another successful year at The Club Championship. We had several amazing members participate, and some incredible winners.
Let’s start by congratulating all of our winners, who all have the chance to represent The Woodford Club at The National Club Championship in Georgia this upcoming March. Congratulations to Mike Marlin who won the men’s legends division, Dale Hollie, who won the men’s senior division, Debbie Abeshear, who won the ladies legends division, and Teena Freibert, who won the women’s senior division! Our overall winners were Chris Franklin and Kaleb Lester! You all played great!
“This year‘s club championship was special due to the excellent turnout, which makes it exciting when you have a large contingent of members playing the competition,” The Woodford Club’s PGA Certified Professional, Bob Baldassari said. “There were a good number of members who had been working on their golf game lately, and it’s exciting to test ones golf game in the pure form of golf competition, that is individual stroke play tournament.”
Chris Franklin has won the tournament four years in a row now, and Kaleb Lester has won three years in a row. It’s part of what makes the day even more exciting!
“Any type of club event is a wonderful opportunity for members to bond and have shared experiences and create wonderful golf memories out of the golf course,” Baldassari said.
He said this type of competitive environment helps enhance the experience.
“It’s thrilling to be involved in one of those competitions, at least once a year to test your game against everyone else.” He added.
Members like Chris Franklin say that there are so many great golfers at the club, which makes for a fun challenge! Now these winners have the opportunity to advance and represent the club.
“We are absolutely excited to have our The Woodford Club members representing the club on a national championship stage. We have tremendous competitors here and The Woodford Club Golf course is an excellent test of golf,” Baldassari said. “Our members regularly compete at a high-level when they play state and national tournaments. Having the club members playing in National tournaments is a huge honor for the golf club and enhances the notoriety and prestige of The Woodford Club.”
We appreciate everyone for coming out for the special day and are already looking forward to next year!
